My Story

I grew up in New Paris, Ohio, a small town located in Preble County. New Paris, is where the Christmas song, “Up On The Housetop” by Benjamin Hanby was written.  After my high school graduation, I attended Patricia Steven Career College and Finishing School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, earning my associate's degree in Public Relations.  While living on Andrews AFB,  Maryland I worked as the religious coordinator organizing and planning Sunday School and various activities for children of all ages. I worked at the base youth center as the office manager.  I also volunteered as a soccer coach in different age levels for many years.

Once we moved to Ohio I attended Lucasville United Methodist Church, Lucasville, Ohio, where I volunteered as a children's church leader and leader for the youth group.

My husband and I owned, trained, and raced standardbred racehorses for over twenty years. We have raced our horses in Maryland, Virginia, Ohio, and Indiana. We are now retired from the racing industry, which we enjoyed very much.

I began writing newsletters to our family about the happenings of our horses, including how they raced every week. Everyone always loved getting the newsletters. Since we lived a distance from family, it helped them to know how the horses were doing. It wasn't long when I was sitting one night scribbling a story about our race horse, Pete's Dream. My husband thought it was cute  and suggested I try publishing it.This is  how I began my journey into writing.

Crafts, gardening, and writing and spending time with family and especially my husband.
